Historic links with Dundee's seafaring past and a visionary city planner are to be commemorated in the proposed names for streets at the city's waterfront.

9 January 2015: South Victoria Dock Road Closure
RESIDENTS and drivers using South Victoria Dock Road have been advised that it will be closed for 16 weeks from January 20. Drainage works by contractors Sir Robert Macalpine mean that the only way in or out of City Quay will be via East Dock Street. The work forms part of the on going reconstruction of the roads network at Dundee Waterfront.
5 January 2015: New Right Turn at Waterfront Junction
Drivers heading for Perth from Dundee’s South Marketgait will turn right at a new light controlled junction opening on Friday (January 9). The lights, in front of Malmaison will replace the temporary right turn at Dundee Railway Station. The pedestrian crossing from Union Street to the Railway Station will be not be affected by this change. Closure of the existing temporary right turn to Perth will allow contractors, Sir Robert McAlpine, to focus on construction elsewhere at the site including the new public open space and adjacent side roads. Work on the £11m grid pattern of streets at the central waterfront is due to completed by the end of 2015.
1 December 2014: Dundee Waterfront launches campaign to attract new hospitality businesses
A campaign, which is being supported by local hospitality entrepreneurs and the British Hospitality Association in Scotland, will be launched at series of Dundee Waterfront Roadshows in Aberdeen (9th Dec), Edinburgh and Glasgow (both 11th Dec). The roadshows will update entrepreneurs, investors and developers on progress with the Waterfront Project.
