Overview
Forth Ports Dundee is the most northerly port within Forth Ports; it is one of the largest economic generators in the City of Dundee and the Tayside region of eastern Scotland.
The port lies on the north side of the sheltered River Tay estuary and is adjacent to the ring road which circles the outskirts of Dundee, providing fast and efficient road links in and out of the city.
Forth Ports Dundee a key player in the handling of bulk commodities. Handling a wide and diverse range of products e.g. mineral salt, grains and cereals, fertilisers, iron ore and coal, the port has discharged and loaded vessels with cargoes up to 25,000 tonnes. The Port of Dundee is a major grain handling port on the east coast of Scotland and hosts the largest grain drying facility in the country.
The Port of Dundee serves the North Sea Sector, this encompasses traditional Oil & Gas and the transition to Low Carbon Energy Sources. Forth Ports Ltd has invested over £40m to improve their facilities at the Port of Dundee to ensure they are fit for purpose and capable of meeting the demanding requirements of both existing and emerging markets.
The Port of Dundee Infrastructure Masterplan was fully completed 2021 and provides the following:
• New Decommissioning & Renewables Quayside
– Caledon East Warf is Fully SEPA Licenced with Water Management Systems for Decommissioning use
• Upgraded Warf to enable High Loads & RoRo
• 140,000m2 of High Loading Land Space
• Significant Capital Dredge
